Which Version are You!

Becoming a better version of yourself does not happen all at once.

It happens slowly.

Through experience.

Through mistakes.

Through hard seasons.

Through the moments when things do not go the way you hoped they would. As we grow, we keep learning. And as we learn, we begin to understand ourselves a little better.

We learn what matters to us. We learn what we are willing to accept and what we are no longer willing to carry. We learn which habits help us move forward and which ones keep us stuck.

We learn that growth is not always comfortable.

Sometimes becoming a better version of yourself means changing the way you think.

Sometimes it means walking away from something that no longer fits.

Sometimes it means admitting you were wrong.

Sometimes it means starting over.

And sometimes it means realizing that the person you were a few years ago did the best they could with what they knew at the time.

The important part is continuing to learn.

I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to have everything figured out. We look around and think everyone else is ahead of us, when the truth is that everyone is learning their own lessons in their own time.

Growth is not a finish line.

There will always be something new to learn about yourself, about other people, and about the way you want to move through the world.

That is actually the exciting part.

You do not have to stay the same person forever.

You can become more patient.

More confident.

More disciplined.

More compassionate.

More willing to take chances.

More willing to protect your peace.

More willing to believe in yourself.

The lessons we learn along the way become part of who we are. Some lessons come from success.

Others come from disappointment.

And sometimes the lessons that hurt the most are the ones that help us grow the most.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is progress.

To look back every once in a while and realize:

I think differently now.

I handle things differently now.

I know myself better now.

I am still growing.

And maybe that is what becoming a better version of yourself really means.

Not becoming someone completely different.

Just continuing to learn, adjust, and become a little more of the person you know you can be.

Coaching Is an Art

Dear Coach, It’s game day. The pre-game reps are done. The preparation is complete. The excitement starts building long before the first whistle, first pitch, or first serve. This is why we play. As a
